Hi! Meet Dylan and Becca
Plant lovers, Master frolickers, and Goat Aficionado’s.
Dylan has been cultivating a relationship with goats since 2011, working with herds in Montana, Arizona, and now Colorado, where he manages Smokebrush farm. His knack for animal husbandry has developed extensively through goat walks, wound care, milking, and birthing. Alongside years of farming, permaculture, and primitive skills, his love for goats deepens simultaneously, and his attentiveness and thoughtfulness make him a true goat whisperer.
Becca has been working with animals since 2019, diving deeper into animal care with an Amazonian organization, RAREC, helping with monkey and snake conservation efforts in the Peruvian jungle. Following marine conservation on the Belize Barrier Reef and participating in Yak treks in Tibet, Becca’s love for animals grounded into goats and their amazing, unique talents and fascinating connection to local ecology. Becca has directed all of her animal passion towards fostering a deeper connection with goats and with the land, and is inspired to learn about plants and disturbance alongside her hoofed friends.

Rue
The biggest lover of the bunch, Rue is the perfect companion for an engaging, interactive experience. Rue knows his name well, will always be up for pets, and his favorite color is yellow! While he finds himself at the bottom of the herd hierarchy, his charm is ever present and he’s sure to woo anyone around.

Cotton
If you’re looking for the goat with the most panache, Cotton’s your man. Part mischief, part goofball, he’ll keep you endlessly entertained. He loves to try out new hair-do’s, questionable plants, and downright funky moves.

Gust
Intelligent, risky, and ever a go-getter, Gust is always up for an adventure. Whether you’re curious what might be over that hill, or just tempted to walk in a zig zag, Gust will be sure to keep you on your toes! Don’t be too concerned if he seems a little stand-offish; Gust is a mama’s boy, and quality time is the name of the game.

Zephyr
Zephyr is the oldest teenager in our herd and has a knack for being funny even when he doesn’t mean to be. He loves to follow his brother into precarious situations, while also leading the herd when he feels like trailblazing. If you like being at the front of the line, with a little side-to-side action peppered in, Zephyr’s your man.

Harriet
If it’s the infamous mother of Gust and Zephyr you’re after, Harriet is your gal. The Mama sans the Drama, she’s a pro at keeping the rascal teenage boys in line, while showing them how to really be an outstanding goat. We can’t imagine a better companion for someone inspired by the power and grace of the matriarch.

The Queen of them all, Melody is all about holding it down back at the farm, and enjoying her reign with lots of hay and delicious naps. If you’re itching to know who keeps the hierarchy in order, Melody is your empress.
